Hermitworks Entertainment Blogs

So Jordan has been pushing to get us all blogging, and since Matthew is going to be back from Vegas soon, I better get something up here so I’m not the last one to get their blog going.

Since this is my first blog entry here, you can read about me, and what I do at Hermitworks.

• First programming language: qbasic. Learned it in grade 8.(woh, 11 years ago)
• First program used by others:a little mail app I wrote in grade 9 in Visual Basic. Students could use it to send each other messages. It was used for a few years after I left the school until students were just using it to insult each other.
• First mod: I opened up the doom wad files, and changed the red blood to green goo so we could play doom at school
• First Fragapalooza: Fp - 99. I missed the first two years, but I’ve been ever since, and been on staff for the last 5 years.
• First Job: Doing computer tech support for the local public school district
• First “Shipped” product: Reaction Quake 3 is probably the first thing that I made that many people used.
• First Quakecon: Quakecon 2002. A buch of the Reaction Quake 3 team all got together down a quake con and rocked it up. It was quite a blast being on the other side of the fence and just chilling out and not having any responsibility.
• First Car: 94 Honda Civic

Anyways, that’s enough first for now. As you may have been able to tell, I’m more on the programming side then the art side, and considering my art consists of ASCII art, I think that’s a good arrangement. Look, stick men giving each other a high five!

Anyhoo, I tend to be a jack of all trades programmer, with my responsibilities falling anywhere from game logic, AI, network, and back end web development. I also am in charge of the build process, so chances are as I spam up the blog, I’ll be writing about these topics for the most part.

Outside of work, I like hanging out with my friends, play pretty much any sport. On the computer front, I play a bit of WoW(60 undead priest on Kel’Thuzad), but havent logged in for a long time.
