Web-o-rama!

January 16th, 2007

Everything changes, constantly. I wish I had a content management system for my brain. The types of information that need to be displayed shift around like the instances of them churned out by Ruby on Rails. It’s very tricky to keep things running while our needs shift. I definitely feel my stress level rising. Usually, if I can get a few hours behind the lens, it helps me deal with work-stress. Lately though, I have not been able to do that either. I’m just gonna bear-down and keep trying. I went out to shoot comet McNaught, but cloudy skies kept it from view.

Aaaaay!
Space Trader is now running inside the browser, and we are stabilizing the executables as there are still a few crash bugs, which are especially annoying. My Mom played ST for over an hour on the weekend, and she enjoyed herself. This is huge. One minute played by my Mom is like 20 played by an enthusiastic gamer. Eventually she wanted to play in ‘explore’ mode, but she only had a trackpad on her laptop, so I steered and she controlled walking and strafing. It was strange, but she kept playing.

Now, I have a steaming pile of graphics and web-design to dig in to, so I’ll take my leave.

Later,

Jordan
