Marketing time...

January 7th, 2007

Well, “Space Trader” is nearly finished. Everyones roles are shifting, especially mine. I have moved from artist, to user interface design, back to artist, then a web-monkey, and now I am in marketing. Trying on new hats seems to be part of the job. I have never been a “Marketing Champion” before. In fact, what I have is more like feelings. I feel like “Space Trader” is something special. It’s tricky to think of ways to convey that. In a way, I suppose this blog is the first step.

Flying Spaghetti Monster
The enthusiasm that people show once they play “Space Trader” is so contagious, it still makes me glow when I watch a first timer play. Hopefully, there will be many, many new ways for me to ‘watch’. The in-game bug reporter is so heavily integrated into our work-flow at HermitWorks, that it’s like the bug process is like a giant flying spaghetti monster and the testers are apendages giving us feedback as we work to improve the stability and enjoyability of the game. It is..er, divine.

In keeping with my religious theme, I am here on the sabbath, beginning to revisit our marketing material. The big push is before us, and now it’s time to start telling the world to play “Space Trader”.

Shalom.. biotch,

Jordan

P.S. - It’s called an “homage” to Shuli, biotch
